Is my terrace suitable for the Zick-Zack joint tape?
With one Zick-Zack joint tape you can cover joints from 5 - 8mm. Wider joints up to 12mm can be partially covered by adding a second joint tape. The Zick-Zack joint tape is suitable for wood- and WPC-decking when the joint depth is consistently min. 15mm.
Measure the width of the joints of your terrace at several points to check the suitability of the Zick-Zack joint tape. Please note down the values.
You will require the average joint widths also to estimate the required total length of Zick-Zack joint tape.

How much Zick-Zack joint tape do I require?
Order Zick-Zack joint tapeMeasure the length of all joints that should be equipped with Zick-Zack joint tape.
Du to the stretch of the elements when applied, the following increase in length has to be considered:
- Joint width of 5mm approx. 20cm (=20%)
- Joint width of 7mm approx. 10cm (=10%)
- Joint width of 8mm - no relevant increase in length
These are just approximate figures as the joint width varies over the length.

Application
Installation instructionsThe humidity of the wood should be around 12 - 15%.
No special tools are required except scissors. A needle nose pliers can be helpful.
Starting with the end of the decking boards the start of the Zick-Zack joint tape is slid into the joints so that the clamping effect fixes the joint tape. Then continue applying the joint tape by pulling and pushing (20cm steps). Apply the joint tape so deep that the outer jags fully touch the wood. Avoid over-stretching the tape, apply step by step (20cm).
The next element is installed in the same way, with a two-point overlap.
